September Series: Safe Sex Tips, Pt. 1
Happy fucking Sexual Awareness Month!
Did you know that September is Sexual Awareness Month? Bet ya didn’t surprise! September is a month where sexual health topics are discussed quite a bit by sex therapists in Minneapolis and across the nation. Last year I got to attend the World Sexual Health Day Conference, it was absolutely amazing, had all the safe sex tips in the world, and more information on sexual health topics like pain, pleasure, BDSM/Kink, Poly, LGBTQ+, and more! Top therapists in Minneapolis would totally agree with me that the conference was flame!
So I say, let’s celebrate Sexual Awareness Month by talking through a couple of sex tips for relationships and sex tips for marriages, right?? You get a safe sex tip, you get a safe sex tip, and YOU get a safe sex tip! Okay, I’m done being Oprah for now!
Let’s talk about some sexy safe sex tips y’all!
Safe Sex Tips: SLOW THE FUCK DOWN: This is one of the best safe sex tips ever. When you slow the fuck down, you can think a little bit about your sexual experience. Do we need a condom? Is there lube nearby? What am I noticing in my body? Are my partner(s) enjoying this? Am I enjoying this? Is this pleasurable? What sensations do I like? How do I feel? I say this is a safe sex tip because it balances out contraception and feeling safe throughout the sexual experience. Pleasure is power! If you’re not having pleasure, what are you having? Use those reflection questions as a safe sex tip to check in with yourself from time to time. Also, when we slow the fuck down, this reduces the risk of injury. Boom! Triple whammy of a safe sex tip, am I right? Maybe I lost count of how many reasons there is for these safe sex tips, but there’s a lot, can’t stop, won’t stop!
Safe Sex Tips: STOP putting pressure on ORGASM: You been there or have you been asking this question? Safe sex tip — because this alleviates the pressure we put on our partners. Sexual pressure is not sexual pleasure. Do you feel good when feeling pressure to perform sexually? Hell no! You feel stressed as fuck!! Perhaps anxious, worried, nervous, and boom you get out of the mood. These sex tips for relationship or sex tips for marriage is one to keep repeating. Let’s pull the pressure out of sex, orgasm, and rather lay back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
Safe Sex Tips: Communicate and Ask Often: Nobody really talks about how sex changes. Sex tips for relationship and sex tips for marriage need to discuss how sexuality is fluid. Sex changes in a marriage, with age, and over time. Maybe what was once pleasurable when you were 20 just isn't anymore when you’re 55. When we communicate, check-in, show, illustrate, and share with our partners, this is a revolutionary act because we prioritize pleasure. Nothing is worse than faking an orgasm or laying there pretending like you’re having a blast, but really hoping and waiting it will be over soon. Talk about sex y’all! This is a safe sex tip to know that it only gets better when there’s more communication happening!
Hope you Enjoyed these Safe Sex Tips!
